ASIAN INSPIRED CHEST

Inspired by a small tea box from China this chest of drawers is sure to impress. It sits on a suspended architectural base that was created with four points and a soft arch. The dresser is constructed of solid walnut with a black glaze finish that was a created to simulate the elegant linen texture of the tea box. In Chinese culture red signifies happiness and prosperity which meshes well with the gold leaf writing on the flanks of the dresser that mean ‘happiness’ and 'tranquility’. The delicate gold leafing was completed by a Chestnut Grove craftsman who mastered the task with careful consideration and pure imagination.
