President of Chestnut Grove, Francesco Giampietro along with Interior Designer Cassandra Brandow, a graduate of the program herself, invited the 3rd year Bachelor of Interior Design students by the Chestnut Design Studio for a site visit.
The students had the opportunity to tour the work studio and showroom area to learn more about the design process from Francesco and Cassandra. The information session was filled with useful real-world design tips, such as how to design for the client’s everyday lifestyle needs. Francesco also spoke in detail of the process of heritage furniture replication. The showroom features items that have been re-created to appear antiqued when in fact the pieces were built with modern day tools. “We understand where the wear and tear is going to be,” says Francesco when describing the science behind the replication process.
We would like to thank Humber College and the Interior Design students as well as the teacher Craig Crane for visiting Chestnut Grove.
