Chestnut Grove paint technician Jose, is seen below painting a prototype of a replicated butcher block style electric guitar. This guitar is being painted a vibrant Lamborghini green hue with yellow pearl highlights.
The first process involves hand sanding the CNC machined guitar body to create an ultra-smooth surface for the paint to glide onto.
Next the painter is applying the coat of green paint with a spray hose. This step is a science to get the paint to evenly cover the surface with precision. The next step involves coating the guitar with a clear shine coat to allow the yellow pearl highlights to sparkle.
This prototype is part of a guitar replication project that Chestnut Grove owner, Francesco has taken on with experienced musician, John Wilson.
