Chestnut Grove - Condo Renovation

New condo development’s spring up frequently in Toronto, a city where space is a luxury. This charming older building, located in East Toronto contains units with much desired space. The challenge for the design team is to create open living areas, which allow for a spacious feel to the rooms.

Luxury Kitchen Design Toronto - Chestnut Grove

Chestnut Grove Lead Designer, Francesco Giampietro saw potential to maximize space in the kitchen and living room area by tearing down a dividing wall to create an airy, open concept design. The kitchen now features an island with two white painted columns that sit above a smooth stone countertop. The lower cabinets feature modern looking wenge coloured veneers that add sophistication to the kitchen with a textured looking design. The drawer fronts are encased in a white cabinet box, creating a contemporary feel to the kitchen island. The upper cabinets are now a soft white that brighten the entire room when exposed to sunlight from the walk-out balcony. Chestnut Grove custom built all the cabinetry in the unit at the Adesso Drive mill-work shop.

The living room area is given a much needed makeover with the addition of floor to ceiling custom built cabinets. The cabinetry is designed to keep with the modern style of the re-envisioned space. A niche now sits to the centre of the cabinet unit to feature artwork or collectibles.

The bathroom was in need of an update as well. The designers focused on making small improvements to the room, such as adding olive wood veneers to the under-sink cabinets. The olive wood colour adds a calming and chic appearance to the bathroom, while providing extra storage for the owners. The entire room is covered in a white tile which enhances the bathroom while making it feel airy and bright.

By upgrading a few key areas, the Chestnut Grove designers are able to create a stylish condo with more room for living.
