A library designed for a new build custom home in Toronto, is now in the installation stage. The two-storey rotunda library, complete with a hidden door, has the millwork in place, and the stone-like columns are being tailored into the millwork. The homeowners favoured a gothic style column, and the Chestnut Grove design team set out on the task of replicating the specific look. The columns are constructed of lightweight concrete material that’s designed for the interior of the house.
The millwork is being installed into the grand space, that encompasses a portion of the basement and first floor of the house. Designed as a library and office space for the client, the space will be a quiet retreat, filled floor to ceiling with books and collectibles.
